Specialist Dietitian – Prehabilitation & Inpatient Service

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Dietitian to join the Lothian Acute Dietetic Team at Western General Hospital. The role will focus on establishing a pre‑habilitation service for patients with colorectal and urological cancers and delivering inpatient dietetic support on the respiratory ward.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a pre‑habilitation service for colorectal and urological cancer patients.
• Provide dietetic assessment and management for in‑patients on the respiratory ward.
• Participate in the training and supervision of B & C placement dietetic students.
• Offer clinical support to other specialties as required.
• Engage in continuous professional development, clinical governance and appraisal processes.

Required profile

• Registered Dietitian with substantial clinical experience, preferably in acute settings.
• Eligibility for PVG Scheme membership (adult and/or child).
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Commitment to teaching and supporting student placements.
