About the role
We are seeking a motivated Specialist Pharmacist to join the Antimicrobial Stewardship team at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The role involves delivering advanced clinical pharmacy services, supporting inpatient and virtual care, and contributing to the GGC antimicrobial agenda.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical antimicrobial advice and promote stewardship within GGC.
- Contribute to antimicrobial governance.
- Develop, implement and evaluate antimicrobial guidelines.
- Participate in antimicrobial ward rounds.
- Provide clinical support to the GGC OPAT service.
- Contribute to meetings such as the GGC Antimicrobial Utilisation Committee.
- Develop and deliver teaching for junior doctors, pharmacists and nurses on antimicrobials.
Required profile
- Hold an MPharm degree (or equivalent) and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Possess (or be working towards) an independent prescribing qualification.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide advanced clinical pharmacy services.
- Commitment to professional development and mentorship.
Required skills
- Clinical antimicrobial expertise.
- Knowledge of antimicrobial stewardship principles.
- Experience with outpatient antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) services.
- Ability to develop and evaluate clinical guidelines.
- Teaching and mentorship abilities.
