About the role
We are seeking a patient and proactive Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11‑18 in a Southwark secondary school. You will work closely with teachers, the SEND department and Speech & Language Therapists to deliver targeted interventions and help students develop their communication skills across the curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted speech, language and communication interventions for pupils aged 11‑18.
- Support students during lessons, helping them access the curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SEND department and Speech & Language Therapists to plan and monitor progress.
- Maintain records of interventions and report on student development.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
- Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable.
- Ability to work closely with teaching staff and external professionals.
- Patient, proactive and confident in delivering interventions.
