Join the Operations team at BAE Systems in Barrow to play a critical role in the production of the Astute and Dreadnought submarine programs. As a Structural Welder, you will contribute to high-precision maritime engineering projects within a world-class industrial environment.

Missions principales

• Perform high-quality flux core (FCAW) welding and potentially mechanized welding on complex structures.
• Execute welding tasks in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (SHE) regulations and quality standards.
• Meet production planning objectives while maintaining the highest levels of safety and craftsmanship.
• Take full responsibility for the quality of work produced and make informed decisions to meet technical requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth operational flow.

Profil recherché

• Successful completion of a full modern apprenticeship is required.
• Proven experience in Flux Core welding (FCAW) within an industrial setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely in confined spaces and at heights.
• Strong commitment to safety culture and the ability to communicate safety concerns proactively.

Competences requises

• Expertise in Flux Core welding and various welding processes.
• Proficiency in material alignment and shaping.
• Knowledge of SHE regulations and COSHH awareness (preferred).
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and quality standards.
