Systems Analysis & Simulations Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a Systems Analysis & Simulation Engineer to join our experienced engineering team and deliver transformative laser communications technology. You will perform simulation and analysis to optimise optical Space‑to‑Ground communication links and services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test algorithms for forecasting link availability using meteorological forecasts and terminal sensor data.
• Estimate and optimise link performance based on expected conditions and analyse empirical data for continuous improvement.
• Utilise Archangel Lightworks' laser communications network simulation tool to assess network‑level performance, support site selection and network architecture development, and define use cases, scenarios and KPIs.
• Generate technical reports, visualisations and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support development and testing of additional analysis and simulation tools to improve product performance and service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in systems analysis and simulation.
• Developed complex models and simulations in MATLAB/Simulink, preferably with meteorological data for networks/communications.
• Experience developing, testing and analysing empirical data.
• Proficient in processing and analysing large datasets efficiently.
• Strong MATLAB and Python programming skills.
