Systems Engineer – L2 Maintenance

About the role
The Systems Engineer is responsible for coordinating, supporting, managing and executing L2 proactive and reactive maintenance activities to ensure continuous service availability and SLA compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform L1 fault management, assurance support and incident management.
- Operate and maintain data and system delivery solutions, supporting the 2nd‑level team to meet network availability targets.
- Prioritise and investigate alarms, trouble tickets and faults, coordinating with all teams and stakeholders during emergencies.
- Participate in internal discussions to improve overall network performance and provide recommendations.
Required profile
- Degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 2‑6 years of practical experience in IP/Data/System/ISP/Enterprise environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle end‑customer issues.
- Proven ability to deliver results, influence stakeholders and produce clear reports.
Required skills
- Proficient with *nix systems, especially RedHat Linux.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and protocols such as ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, TFTP, DNS, HTTP, NTP.
- Experience troubleshooting complex server networks and ISP technologies (DNS, RADIUS, DHCP).
- Knowledge of multi‑vendor server hardware (Oracle, HP, Cisco, NetApp) and hyper‑converged platforms (Dell VxRail, Cisco UCS).
- Hands‑on experience with virtualization (VMware ESXi/VSAN, KVM).
- Familiarity with network routing/switching protocols and load balancers.
