About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester. The role supports pupils with special educational needs (SEND) and works closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored learning experiences. It is a full‑time, long‑term position starting in September 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with ASD, communication difficulties, social and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized learning strategies.
- Encourage pupil engagement and independence during classroom activities.
- Adapt teaching resources to ensure curriculum accessibility for all children.
- Offer occasional additional support in Reception when required.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEND pupils.
- Patient, caring and proactive attitude towards children.
- Strong communication skills for building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Commitment to making learning accessible and enjoyable for every student.

- Competitive hourly rate of £14.25‑£16.65.
- Standard working hours 8:30 am‑4:00 pm with a 30‑minute break.
