Teaching Assistant – Sports Graduate & Coach (Year 3)

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Year 3 class at a primary school in Haringey, London. The role is ideal for sports graduates or coaches who want to translate teamwork, resilience and confidence gained through sport into a supportive classroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering the Year 3 curriculum.
- Provide occasional one‑to‑one support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Use sport‑based activities and positive reinforcement to motivate and engage pupils.
- Lead small‑group sessions and help manage behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate closely with the teacher and the SEND team.
Required profile
- Passionate about education and eager to develop a teaching career.
- Experience in coaching or playing team sports (football, rugby, athletics, basketball, cricket, etc.).
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
Required skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of SEND provision, particularly ASD.
- Ability to plan and deliver sport‑related activities.
