Water Mains Laying Trainer – £45k + Car Allowance

About the role

We are partnering with a leading training provider to recruit a Water Mains Laying Trainer. You will deliver high‑quality training to apprentices and experienced operatives across the UK, combining classroom instruction with hands‑on practical sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver water‑mains laying training covering installation, pipe laying, repairs, reinstatement and utilities standards.
• Support both initial training programmes and up‑skilling initiatives for existing staff.
• Conduct a mix of classroom teaching and practical, site‑based sessions.
• Travel to client sites nationwide as required to assess progress and provide on‑site guidance.
• Mentor learners through assessments, progression routes and certification processes.

Required profile

• Strong background in water‑mains laying, utilities or civil engineering.
• Experience as a mains layer or operative, with a willingness to move into a training role.
• Previous mentoring, coaching or supporting colleagues is advantageous.
• Comfortable delivering training to groups and representing the provider on client sites.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.
