Womenswear Buyer – Knitwear, E‑Commerce & Retail

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑driven Womenswear Buyer to lead key categories for a fast‑growing premium fashion brand based in Manchester. The role combines range building, trading and analytical responsibilities across knitwear, PU and other womenswear lines, supporting both e‑commerce and retail channels.

Key responsibilities

• Own buying strategy for selected womenswear categories, including knitwear and PU.
• Collaborate with Merchandising to develop seasonal and quarterly plans.
• Build balanced ranges covering product, colour, fabric, shape and price.
• Partner with Design, Technical and Sourcing teams to deliver products on time, within cost and quality targets.
• Trade weekly, analysing sales, stock and performance data to identify opportunities.
• Use customer insight and data to make fast commercial decisions.
• Present category strategies and performance updates to senior stakeholders.
• Identify trends, gaps and new opportunities to maximise sales.
• Manage critical path, meet key deadlines and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Contribute to wider projects and process improvements while delivering agreed sales, margin and stock targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Womenswear Buyer in a high‑street or mid‑market fashion environment.
• Strong commercial eye and genuine passion for product.
• Confident in trading a department and making data‑led decisions.
• Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working at pace.
• Understanding of the womenswear customer and current trends.
• Experience across e‑commerce and/or store channels is desirable.
