1LOD Commodities Market Risk Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a 1LOD Commodities Market Risk Analyst to join a leading trading house in London. The role works closely with trading desks and fundamental analysis teams to provide independent risk insight, support portfolio management and challenge trading strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Interact daily with trading desks and fundamental analysis teams to facilitate independent analysis and advise on portfolio management.
• Conduct weekly deep‑dives on current trading positions, identify risk exposures and produce clear commentary for executive meetings.
• Support front‑office personnel in developing proposals for new business activities and market initiatives.
• Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and the executive team.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in risk management or trading within an energy trading firm.
• Proven experience interacting directly with traders, originators and senior management.
• Strong understanding of energy commodity markets and the ability to analyse complex trading strategies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of European Power markets.
• Knowledge of European Gas markets.
• Knowledge of Global LNG and Global LPG.
• Familiarity with Power and Gas vanilla options.
• Familiarity with Power and Gas flexible assets.
