About the role
Prospero Teaching is partnering with a high‑achieving school in Bournemouth to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant. You will work closely with pupils to promote positive behaviour, engagement and learning both inside the classroom and during break times.
Key responsibilities
- Provide classroom support – organise activities, encourage engagement and manage behaviour.
- Offer one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to children who need additional behavioural support.
- Supervise pupils during break and lunch periods.
- Maintain accurate progress reports and documentation.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional references related to work with children.
- Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience in a UK school or similar educational setting.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (can be provided).
Required skills
- Experience working with children and young people.
- Ability to support emotional and behavioural needs.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
