Behaviour Support Assistant

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with a high‑achieving school in Bournemouth to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant. You will work closely with pupils to promote positive behaviour, engagement and learning both inside the classroom and during break times.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom support – organise activities, encourage engagement and manage behaviour.
• Offer one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to children who need additional behavioural support.
• Supervise pupils during break and lunch periods.
• Maintain accurate progress reports and documentation.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references related to work with children.
• Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Previous experience in a UK school or similar educational setting.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (can be provided).

Required skills

• Experience working with children and young people.
• Ability to support emotional and behavioural needs.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
