About the role

We are seeking an experienced hospitality professional to serve as the Director of Private Residence for an ultra‑high‑net‑worth family. This live‑in, 24/7 position oversees the full operational management of a prestigious stately home, ensuring it operates with five‑star standards while remaining a discreet private residence.

Key responsibilities

• Full operational oversight of the private residence and associated residential buildings.
• Deliver a highly personalised experience for principals and guests.
• Maintain impeccable presentation and five‑star standards throughout the home and grounds.
• Lead all residential operations including housekeeping, maintenance, service, and presentation.
• Recruit, train, and manage household staff to luxury‑hospitality standards.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, artisans, and specialist service providers.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, refurbishments, and enhancement projects.
• Coordinate guest stays, entertaining, and private events with discretion.
• Handle procurement, inventories, budgets, and operational reporting.
• Act as trusted liaison with the Principal, Chief of Staff, Family Office, and security teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a recognised five‑star hospitality environment, luxury private members’ club, boutique retreat, or ultra‑high‑end private residence.
• Strong understanding of modern luxury service that is intuitive, discreet, polished, and personalised.
• Experience overseeing complex private residences or luxury hospitality operations.
• Hands‑on operational awareness with exceptional attention to detail.
• Low‑ego, highly capable, discreet, and service‑driven personality.
