Director/Partner – Tech M&A (Mid‑Market Boutique)

About the role

An independent mid‑market boutique investment bank is seeking a senior deal originator to lead technology‑focused M&A transactions ranging up to £500m, with a sweet spot of £150‑200m. The successful candidate will work autonomously and alongside partners to originate and execute both buy‑side and sell‑side deals across the UK tech sector.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively identify and originate new M&A and capital‑raise opportunities through a strong personal network of founders, investors, and intermediaries.
• Lead client engagements from the initial pitch through to mandate win, demonstrating deep sector insight and commercial acumen.
• Drive business development activities to expand the firm’s tech advisory franchise.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing team of technology investment‑banking professionals.
• Maintain credibility and manage strong relationships with external parties, including investors and other advisors.

Required profile

• Significant experience in technology‑focused M&A advisory within an investment bank, Big 4, private‑equity, boutique, or corporate development role.
• Proven track record of originating and executing mid‑market buy‑side and sell‑side transactions.
• For Director level: strong execution experience with evidence of successful deal traction.
• For Partner level: extensive network and recognised credentials in the tech sector.
