Financial Controller – Peterborough

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Financial Controller to join a growing organisation in Peterborough. This role sits at the heart of the business, providing strategic finance insight and partnering with operational teams to drive performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day financial control activities and ensure accurate management reporting.
• Deliver variance analysis, insightful commentary and maintain strong balance‑sheet oversight.
• Support year‑end reporting, statutory accounts preparation and audit processes.
• Partner with budget holders to provide practical financial guidance on margins, cash flow and costs.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
• Apply financial due diligence to new initiatives and growth opportunities.
• Drive process improvement, financial governance and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a financial control or similar finance role.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
