Graduate Development Programme – Engineering

About the role

Robert Bird Group is offering a two‑year Graduate Development Programme for aspiring engineers. You will join a global team of specialists and work on high‑profile projects across the UK, gaining hands‑on consulting experience from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior engineers on structural, civil, geotechnical and construction projects.
• Contribute to design, analysis and documentation for major infrastructure and building schemes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and industry leaders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Participate in site visits, technical reviews and client meetings.
• Develop professional skills through mentorship, training sessions and rotating assignments.

Required profile

• Final‑year student or recent graduate with a degree in civil, structural, geotechnical or construction engineering.
• Minimum 2:1 classification (MEng, BEng, BSc).
• Permanent right to work in the UK.
• Self‑motivated, adaptable and eager to learn.
• Strong communicator and effective team player.

Required skills

• Fundamental knowledge of civil, structural, geotechnical or construction engineering principles.
• Analytical and numerical problem‑solving abilities.
