HR Manager – Fixed-Term (12 months)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented HR Manager to support a top law firm in London on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will provide expert advice across a broad range of HR activities, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate partner‑related documentation such as offer letters, partnership agreements and leaving arrangements.
- Oversee onboarding and off‑boarding for partners, ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional obligations, including SRA requirements.
- Maintain the HR precedent bank and lead the annual review of global employee handbooks.
- Develop, review and update HR policies and procedures to meet employment legislation and best practice.
- Manage the firm’s annual AML screening process, including DBS checks and adverse media searches.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, feedback analysis and action‑plan implementation.
- Publish HR guidance, resources and tools on the intranet and coordinate HR training sessions.
- Monitor legislative developments and implement necessary changes to HR processes and documentation.
Required profile
- Relevant degree‑level qualification (desirable) and CIPD certification (desirable).
- Proven HR manager or business‑partner experience, preferably within professional services.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build confidence and trust with partners and managers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, high attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work flexibly.
Required skills
- Knowledge of SRA requirements and AML screening processes.
- Familiarity with DBS checks, adverse media searches and regulatory background screening.

- 12‑month fixed‑term contract, 9.30 am–5.30 pm with flexibility.
