IT Service Event Manager

About the role

As an IT Service Event Manager at CGI, you will embed robust Event Management practices within a complex defence programme. Working in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment, you will design proactive solutions that minimise disruption, improve service stability and support real‑time decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Event Management process across a defence‑focused IT landscape, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Review and optimise Event Management tooling to meet process goals.
• Analyse incident and event data to identify high‑frequency repeat events and tooling gaps.
• Assess current tooling integration (Monitoring → ITSM → CMDB → Reporting) and propose remediation.
• Develop a roadmap framework, including prioritisation scoring, automation governance and BAU transition documentation.
• Produce a rollout plan with a continual‑improvement backlog and conduct stakeholder sign‑off.

Required profile

• Proven experience aligning ITIL processes within a complex, security‑sensitive environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with operational teams and drive continual service improvement.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance or ability to obtain it.
