Knowledge Lawyer – Aviation Regulatory Authority

About the role

The Civil Aviation Authority is seeking a highly organised and forward‑thinking lawyer to lead the newly created Knowledge Lawyer position within the Office of the General Counsel. This role will focus on knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and driving excellence across the legal team supporting aviation regulation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed knowledge‑management processes for the legal department.
• Facilitate the capture, organisation and dissemination of legal precedents, policies and best practices.
• Collaborate with legal advisers to ensure consistent, efficient delivery of legal services.
• Support the creation of guidance material for emerging regulatory areas such as safety, consumer rights and environmental protection.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and legal excellence.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with strong organisational and analytical abilities.
• Experience in public law, civil litigation or regulatory environments is desirable but not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to work with transferable legal skills across different subject areas.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Motivation to shape a new role from the outset.
