MFL ECT – French or Spanish Teacher (Permanent)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑regarded secondary school in Barking & Dagenham to recruit a passionate Modern Foreign Language Early Career Teacher (MFL ECT). The successful candidate will join a supportive, forward‑thinking department to teach French or Spanish to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, starting in September on a permanent contract.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging French or Spanish lessons for KS3 and KS4, fostering confidence and communication skills.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the collaborative MFL department, sharing resources and best practices.
• Maintain classroom discipline and uphold the school’s behaviour standards.
• Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions and departmental planning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or on track to achieve it.
• Specialism in French or Spanish.
• Strong classroom presence and clear communication abilities.
• Passion for languages and student development.
• Motivated, reflective and eager to grow professionally.
