About the role
We are partnering with a well‑regarded secondary school in Barking & Dagenham to recruit a passionate Modern Foreign Language Early Career Teacher (MFL ECT). The successful candidate will join a supportive, forward‑thinking department to teach French or Spanish to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, starting in September on a permanent contract.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging French or Spanish lessons for KS3 and KS4, fostering confidence and communication skills.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the collaborative MFL department, sharing resources and best practices.
- Maintain classroom discipline and uphold the school’s behaviour standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions and departmental planning.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or on track to achieve it.
- Specialism in French or Spanish.
- Strong classroom presence and clear communication abilities.
- Passion for languages and student development.
- Motivated, reflective and eager to grow professionally.
Required skills
- Effective classroom management.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
