Mobile Plant Operative – Rigid Dump Truck & Loader Operator

About the role

Imerys is seeking a Mobile Plant Operative to join its St Austell site in Cornwall. You will operate heavy plant equipment on a rotating day and night roster, contributing to the efficient movement of material across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a Rigid Dump Truck during day shifts or Medium Wheeled Loaders on day and night shifts.
• Maintain excavation and tipping areas in line with site rules and traffic management plans.
• Perform equipment safety checks at the start of each shift.
• Maximise tonnes moved per shift while minimising waiting time.
• Communicate with site supervisors and team members via in‑cab radio to resolve issues promptly.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 11‑hour shifts on a two‑week rotating day/night schedule, including occasional weekend work.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and site regulations.
• Good teamwork and communication skills for interaction with supervisors and crew.
