Mobile Technician

About the role

We are looking for a self‑motivated Mobile Technician to join our Plant & Fleet team in Central London. You will work independently across customer sites, servicing and repairing light commercial vehicles, plant machinery and specialist equipment for the utilities sector.

Key responsibilities

• Service, repair and maintain LCVs, construction plant, material handling and ancillary equipment.
• Travel across the UK to customer locations, using a fully equipped service van, PDA and smartphone.
• Carry out statutory inspections, examinations, calibrations and routine service activities.
• Diagnose faults using advanced diagnostic tools and electrical system knowledge.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate service updates to the central service network.
• Deliver high standards of customer service and build strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Recognised NVQ Level 3 or equivalent industry qualification.
• Excellent manual dexterity and proven ability to use a wide range of hand tools.
• Technical confidence with advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently, manage statutory inspections and service contracts.
• Strong people skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Capability to perform statutory inspections and calibrations.
