People Business Partner

About the role

The British Transport Police are seeking a People Business Partner to join the People Delivery team at their London Hub. This hands‑on role works closely with senior leaders across a variety of operational departments, providing pragmatic HR advice and driving people‑focused change.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to design and deliver people plans that support operational priorities.
• Provide clear, evidence‑based HR guidance on complex people issues, influencing decisions and ensuring balanced outcomes.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing People team, delivering a consistent and responsive HR service.
• Use workforce data and intelligence to identify trends, challenge assumptions and drive evidence‑based interventions.
• Manage high‑risk employee relations cases as a trusted adviser and decision‑maker.
• Support and lead organisational change initiatives, embedding improved ways of working.

Required profile

• MCIPD qualified (or equivalent) with up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law.
• Proven experience at senior HR/Business Partner level, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills, able to navigate complex, fast‑paced environments.
