About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a strong Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a popular mainstream primary school in Mitcham (CR4). The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and initially runs from September 2026 to July 2027 with the possibility of extension or a permanent position based on performance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide dedicated support to pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD and EBD, across Key Stage 1 and 2.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering inclusive lessons.
- Implement safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other staff to promote a supportive learning environment.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year experience working with Key Stage 1/2 pupils in the UK.
- Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
- Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and emotional & behavioural difficulties (EBD).
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional references covering the last two years.
