Quality Improvement Lead (Internal)

About the role

The Quality Improvement Lead will be based at University Hospital Crosshouse on a secondment until 1 December 2026. This senior position supports and drives improvement programmes across NHS Ayrshire & Arran, ensuring safe, effective and person‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Acute Quality Improvement Team, optimising resource use.
• Collaborate with senior management and clinical leaders to embed improvement initiatives.
• Work with multidisciplinary ward and departmental teams to implement change.
• Design and deliver Quality Improvement education across the organisation.
• Shape and influence the development of QI approaches that underpin high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Strong communication and engagement skills, able to work with teams at all levels.
• Independent, initiative‑driven with a proven record of leading QI work.
• Recognised Quality Improvement qualification or significant experience in a QI‑related field.
• Excellent IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
• Passion for improving care and supporting teams to deliver high‑quality services.
