Registered Nurse – General Practice (Onehunga/Mt Roskill)

About the role

The Doctors Medical Centres is seeking a registered nurse to join its general practice team serving the Onehunga and Mt Roskill communities. This casual, as‑needed position offers the chance to deliver advanced primary‑care services within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a general practice setting, including urgent care and routine consultations.
• Conduct immunisations, smear tests and other clinical procedures as required.
• Collaborate with GPs and other health professionals to improve community health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings up to 8 pm.

Required profile

• Current New Zealand practising certificate.
• Experience in a medical centre or primary/secondary care setting (desirable).
• Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
• Postgraduate nursing qualifications or specialisation (e.g., travel health, occupational health, prescribing) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Current CPR certification.
• Immunisation and smear‑taking certificates (desirable).
• Computer literacy.
