Senior Accountant

About the role

We are a technology‑driven accountancy firm supporting a diverse portfolio of UK‑based clients. As a Senior Accountant you will manage client portfolios, ensure high‑quality compliance work and mentor junior staff within a supportive, ACCA‑approved environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Review bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts prepared by junior staff.
• Prepare and finalise year‑end accounts in line with FRS 102/105.
• Prepare and review corporation tax computations and CT600 filings.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns.
• Oversee VAT compliance, including Making Tax Digital submissions.
• Assist with payroll and pension compliance reviews.
• Liaise with HMRC on client queries.
• Support and mentor junior accountants and assistants.
• Contribute to process improvements and workflow efficiencies.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified or finalist (or equivalent such as ACA or CIMA).
• 2–4 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax principles.
• Experience preparing year‑end accounts and tax returns.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar).
• Advanced Excel and analytical abilities.
