Senior BIM/CAD Technician – Water Sector (Southwest UK)

About the role

Stantec is seeking a Senior BIM/CAD Technician to join its Digital Design team in the Southwest region, supporting water‑sector projects from either the Bristol or Exeter office. You will lead regional digital delivery, work closely with engineering teams, and ensure high‑quality BIM and CAD outputs across the UK and Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regional leadership for the Digital Design team in the Southwest.
• Collaborate with equivalent regional leads across the UK.
• Deliver BIM/CAD models and related deliverables for water‑sector projects.
• Manage regional workload plans and maintain delivery deadlines.
• Mentor and develop local Digital Design team members.
• Act as the primary client contact for digital deliverables.
• Operate within Common Data Environments (CDEs) to ensure data integrity.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Technician or Senior Technician in digital delivery, preferably within water engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 standards for project delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience estimating project effort and creating work breakdown structures.
• Commitment to mentoring junior colleagues and fostering innovation.

Required skills

• Full familiarity with ISO 19650.
• Extensive use of Common Data Environments such as BIM360, AAC, or ProjectWise.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD/BIM delivery.
• Advanced use of Autodesk and Bentley design tools.
