Senior Legal Counsel – Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading financial services firm operating across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting directly to the Group General Counsel, you will act as a senior team member, providing expert legal advice and supporting the wider legal team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the GC in managing corporate matters, including a large global restructuring project.
• Support a group‑wide IT transformation initiative from a legal perspective.
• Draft, negotiate and review regulatory, reinsurance and custodian agreements specific to financial services.
• Provide litigation and dispute support as required.
• Maintain relationships with senior internal stakeholders and manage multiple projects independently.

Required profile

• Minimum of 10 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
• Experience in corporate, regulatory and, optionally, litigation matters.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage internal relationships.
• Exposure to multi‑jurisdictional work is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Litigation/dispute handling (useful but not essential).
