Solicitor – Litigation (Disease, Illness & Historic Abuse)

About the role

Pro Insurance is seeking a Solicitor to join its newly formed Pro Legal team. The successful candidate will manage and progress a caseload of litigated claims, focusing on disease, illness and historic abuse matters, while working across several UK offices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of fast‑track and multi‑track litigated claims (disease/illness and historic abuse).
• Draft legal documents such as defences, directions questionnaires, disclosure lists, witness statements, cost budgets and instructions to counsel.
• Assess liability and quantum, analyse documentary and expert evidence, including medical records.
• Ensure compliance with court directions, procedural timetables and attend hearings as required.
• Maintain accurate case management information and deliver high‑quality client service.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) or experienced Paralegal.
• Experience handling litigated claims, preferably in disease, illness or historic abuse.
• Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation process.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise workload and work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in drafting legal pleadings and court documents.
• Analytical ability to interpret liability and medical evidence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
