Site Engineer – Water Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join the Severn Trent contract team in Hatton. The role involves supporting the delivery of essential water infrastructure projects, working on‑site to ensure quality, safety and compliance. The position is full‑time, 45 hours per week with some flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out setting‑out, surveying and verification of works to align with design drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate and plan site activities in line with project programmes, resolving technical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate site records, including as‑built data, inspection and test plans and material approvals.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams to support smooth delivery on site.
• Promote and uphold health, safety and environmental standards across all site operations.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a site‑based engineering role within the water or civil construction industry.
• CSCS Card and a full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with setting‑out and surveying equipment such as total stations and GPS.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction processes.
