Specialist Occupational Therapist – Child & Adolescent Mental Health

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting young people up to 18 years who experience mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges. Based at Woodside Health & Care Centre, you will join a growing CAMHS Occupational Therapy team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver specialist OT interventions for children and young people with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs.
• Manage an autonomous caseload, ensuring evidence‑based care and positive outcomes.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams and partner agencies for holistic care planning.
• Contribute to diagnostic processes, joint assessments and clinical decision‑making.
• Provide supervision and training to junior staff, support workers, students and families.

Required profile

• Current HCPC registration and a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions within a CAMHS or similar setting.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and risk‑management skills with ability to work independently.
• Experience of working in multi‑disciplinary or multi‑agency teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, assessment tools and outcome measures.
• Effective communication, organisational and IT skills.
