About the role
We are seeking a motivated Specialist Pharmacist (Band 7) to join the pharmacy team at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People. The post will support the delivery of high‑quality pharmacy services across a range of paediatric specialties and will play a key part in developing our clinical pharmacy service.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy support to acute receiving units and specialist medical wards.
- Influence prescribing decisions and optimise medication therapy for paediatric patients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams with a non‑medical prescribing role.
- Contribute to service development, patient flow management and capacity planning.
- Maintain up‑to‑date clinical knowledge across diverse specialties such as oncology, neurology and intensive care.
Required profile
- Master of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent) and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Proven experience influencing prescribing and improving patient care.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities in an acute setting.
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous professional development.

What we offer
- Permanent Band 7 contract, 36 hours per week.
- Salary £52,769 – £61,377 per annum (on‑call, weekend and public‑holiday rota included).
