Account Director

About the role

WTW is looking for an experienced Account Director to join its insurance client service team in Birmingham. You will act as the primary liaison between large, global corporate clients and the insurance markets, ensuring that risk management needs are met with tailored solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of existing clients while prospecting new business opportunities.
• Understand clients' risk profiles and design appropriate insurance programme structures.
• Collaborate with insurers, underwriters and Lloyd's market participants to place business.
• Lead delivery of high‑quality client service, meeting agreed service standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare proposals, respond to RFPs and support new‑business presentations.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities and work with internal teams to grow accounts.
• Maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers, budget holders and market contacts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing corporate insurance accounts or similar client‑facing roles.
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on client retention and revenue growth.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with senior stakeholders and market partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of insurance programme design, pricing and placement strategies.
• Familiarity with Lloyd's and broader insurance market processes.
