Accounts Assistant

About the role

Join the finance team at B&L’s London Head Office as an Accounts Assistant. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and CFO, you will manage daily finance operations, from high‑volume sales reconciliation to multi‑site stock transfers and supplier invoicing.

Key responsibilities

• Full management of the sales ledger, posting and reconciling cash, card, Deliveroo, Uber Eats, gift vouchers and customer deposits.
• Daily bank transaction updates and cash‑bank reconciliations for each site.
• Handling company credit cards and posting supplier invoices to the ledger.
• Co‑ordinating stock transfers from F&B suppliers and reconciling balance‑sheet items.
• Raising and posting sales invoices, maintaining debtor control accounts.
• Book‑keeping for a small separate entity and preparing monthly management accounts.
• Producing periodic sales analysis and reports at site and group level.
• Assisting with month‑end balance‑sheet reconciliation, management accounts and year‑end audit preparation.
• Supporting ad‑hoc finance tasks as requested by senior team members.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
• At least 2 years of experience in a high‑volume sales ledger function, preferably in hospitality.
• Demonstrated interest and knowledge in accounting; a part‑qualification is advantageous.
• Confident communicator able to interact with staff at all levels.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as Acorn, Basecone, ProNett or Twinfield.

• Base salary up to £32,000 per year, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
