Accounts Specialist – Finance Assistant (London)

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Specialist to join a leading international luxury interiors and lifestyle organisation in central London. Working closely with the Finance Manager UK & Ireland, you will support day‑to‑day finance operations, maintain accurate records and contribute to statutory and management reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and post journals, accruals, pre‑payments and deferred rent schedules.
• Support the production of monthly management accounts.
• Raise sales invoices and credit notes, handle customer billing queries and perform monthly credit‑control activities.
• Reconcile customer accounts and statements, monitor aged debt.
• Process supplier invoices, prepare payment runs and resolve supplier queries.
• Reconcile supplier statements and perform bank reconciliations.
• Manage inter‑company recharges, post payroll journals and maintain supporting records.
• Support VAT and CIS compliance, liaise with HMRC and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Progressive or experienced Accounts Assistant with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a finance team and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Motivation to contribute to process improvements and support month‑end reporting.
