Application Support – AVP (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Application Support – AVP to join a leading banking and finance client on a six‑month fixed‑term contract in London. You will support production environments, liaise with development, data‑centre and help‑desk teams, and ensure smooth operation of critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues on Windows servers and databases (SQL Server or Oracle).
• Collaborate with technical support, network and infrastructure teams to address application challenges.
• Provide out‑of‑hours production support as part of the on‑call rotation.
• Participate in design workshops and contribute ideas for stable operations.
• Develop scripts for data analysis and follow Change Management procedures.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Effective time‑management to meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to work early‑morning, late‑night, weekend or bank‑holiday shifts as needed.

Required skills

• Windows Server environment.
