Architect / Architectural Assistant – London

About the role

Woolpert is seeking an Architect or Architectural Assistant to join its London studio. Working under the supervision of the Project Lead, you will contribute to the design and development of complex architectural projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Project Lead on design development and interim reviews.
• Prepare new designs, adapt existing drawings, specifications and schedules to meet project requirements.
• Evaluate and apply design and construction techniques independently.
• Liaise with consultants and statutory authorities to establish conceptual frameworks.
• Support day‑to‑day coordination of the design team and maintain strong working relationships.
• Attend client meetings and presentations as needed.
• Integrate architectural and engineering elements into unified design packages.
• Produce scale drawings and contract documents for contractors.
• Assist with construction document administration and onsite observation to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• BA/BSc/BArch and MArch degrees (essential).
• Relevant experience in the architectural or construction industry, preferably at least 4 years.
• Registration with ARB and RIBA or an equivalent overseas professional body (desirable).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of architectural principles, design development, and construction techniques.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Effective communication with consultants, authorities, and clients.
