Assistant Finance Analyst

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Finance Analyst to join a leading technology solutions organisation in Birmingham. Working within a supportive finance team, you will gain hands‑on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis while developing a solid understanding of commercial finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Perform reconciliations and support the month‑end close process.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis activities.
• Analyse financial data and help produce management reports.
• Collaborate with senior finance stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience in the IT, technology, cyber‑security or professional services sector.
• Experience supporting the preparation of financial reports in a finance or accounting environment.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and good organisational skills.
