Assistant Headteacher (SEND) – Primary School

About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Headteacher to lead our SEND primary school, driving improvement and ensuring high-quality education and care for all pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Support strategic leadership and school development.
- Lead school improvement initiatives and curriculum development.
- Promote excellence in teaching, learning, behaviour and pupil progress.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff.
- Champion inclusive practice and maintain high standards of SEND provision.
- Build strong partnerships with families, external agencies and professionals.
- Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils and staff.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Proven leadership experience in a SEND or specialist setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs and inclusive practice.
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication and learning difficulties.
- Track record of raising standards and improving outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion.
- Passion, resilience and vision to inspire others.
