Assistant Organisation Design & Transformation Practitioner

About the role

We are partnering with an innovative regional employer in Birmingham city centre to hire an Assistant Organisation Design & Transformation Practitioner on a six‑month contract. The role supports rapid organisation design reviews and transformation initiatives, providing evidence‑based insights, modelling, and option development.

Key responsibilities

• Translate design hypotheses and emerging options into practical models covering roles, spans, layers, reporting structures, capability needs, costs and workforce implications.
• Develop comparative option analyses that outline strengths, weaknesses, benefits, risks and trade‑offs for senior decision‑making.
• Support the creation of design‑sprint business cases and governance documentation.
• Work iteratively with senior Organisation Design Practitioners to refine and test options during workshops.
• Provide accurate data, analysis and insight to underpin design and transformation reviews.
• Conduct whole‑system organisational diagnostics, analysing strategy, processes, culture, skills, KPIs, systems and ways of working.
• Design and deliver assessments of spans, layers, management ratios, grade mix, role clarity and structural effectiveness.
• Produce insight packs, reports, dashboards and workshop materials for option testing and governance.
• Support transformation tracking through data baselining, trend analysis, benefits monitoring and risk reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting within HR, organisation design, people analytics or transformation environments.
• Proven ability to design and support organisational diagnostics, surveys, research or benchmarking in complex settings.
• Strong analytical capability to interpret complex organisational data and translate findings into clear, actionable insight.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to senior and non‑technical audiences.
