Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Specialist Sub‑Contractor, City of London

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading specialist sub‑contractor operating in the City of London. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with 1–3 years of commercial experience to develop fast under the guidance of a supportive Commercial Director and experienced QS team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the commercial team in managing project costs and preparing valuations.
• Support procurement activities and maintain accurate cost records.
• Help compile final accounts and ensure financial close‑out of projects.
• Work on a variety of projects ranging from £250k to £8m, including enabling works, structural alterations, basement construction, and remediation.
• Provide on‑site and office support, balancing field observations with office documentation.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role.
• Enthusiastic, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn demolition and structural packages.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
