Assistant Site Manager – Residential Development

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a large‑scale, traditional build residential scheme of 120+ units in Hemel Hempstead. The role involves working within a structured production team on a high‑profile development that includes private sale and affordable housing.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day delivery of the scheme, overseeing external or internal packages as required.
• Provide clear direction to the on‑site construction team on responsibilities and targets.
• Ensure the development is completed to specification and programme.
• Produce accurate progress reports and manage dates.
• Control non‑productive and preliminary costs.
• Drive quality at every construction stage and approve stage completions for subcontractor payments.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external inspections, including NHBC stage inspections.
• Maintain health and safety standards on site.
• Contribute to self‑development and mentor others.
• Handle customer care, handovers and CMLS processes.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of traditional build methods.
• Experience as an Assistant Site Manager within a full production team.
• Experience on NHBC/LABC award‑winning projects is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications such as CSCS, First Aid and scaffold awareness.
