About the role
BDO is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager to join its Scotland audit team. You will work on high‑growth client engagements, delivering transparent and trusted audit reports while developing your professional qualifications.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver accurate, transparent audit reporting to stakeholders.
- Identify and raise risk matters, exercising judgement within agreed parameters.
- Understand client needs, propose technical solutions and agree them with senior managers or partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with audited entities throughout the year.
- Manage audit projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and escalating issues promptly.
- Supervise and coach junior team members.
Required profile
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, ICAS or overseas equivalent.
- Working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with financial products, regulatory compliance and anti‑money‑laundering rules.
- Demonstrable awareness of current economic and market trends.
- Experience in project and financial management, and in supervising junior staff.
Required skills
- ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualification.
- GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP knowledge.
- Anti‑money‑laundering compliance expertise.
- Risk identification and assessment.
- Project management.
