Audit Senior – Chartered Accountants (Southampton)

About the role

We are partnering with a distinguished mid‑tier firm of Chartered Accountants in Southampton to recruit an Audit Senior. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high‑quality audit services and shaping the future direction of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage audit assignments, including cost estimation, billing and client liaison.
• Maintain audit quality through participation in internal and external quality assurance processes.
• Brief and support staff on client specifics and assignment requirements.
• Ensure assignments are completed within budget and address significant issues with partners and clients.
• Develop and sustain strong client relationships, providing excellent service.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet diverse client needs and utilise specialist services.
• Stay updated on technical and industry developments through continuous professional development.
• Mentor junior staff and students, fostering their growth.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification (essential).
• Proven senior‑level audit experience with a track record of delivering high‑quality audits.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client portfolios and build lasting relationships.
• Experience in budgeting, assignment planning and staff briefing.

What we offer

• Salary between £42,000 and £48,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualification status.
