About the role
We are looking for a calm and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to provide on‑call support in a large, inclusive secondary school in Greenwich. You will be called upon when students become disruptive or struggle emotionally, helping them regulate, de‑escalate and return to learning as quickly as possible.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to on‑call behaviour alerts throughout the school day.
- Support students in emotional regulation and de‑escalation.
- Work closely with pastoral and SEN teams to ensure consistent support.
- Facilitate smooth reintegration of students back into lessons.
Required profile
- Experience supporting young people with SEN or SEMH needs.
- A calm, professional and supportive approach to behaviour management.
- Confidence working independently and responding to situations in real time.
- Suitable background as a cover supervisor, learning support assistant or youth mentor.
