BIM Coordinator – HS2 Rail Systems

About the role

The BIM Coordinator supports the delivery of BIM/AIM processes across the HRS02 mechanical & electrical scope of the HS2 Rail Systems programme. Working under the HRS02 BIM Lead, the role acts as the primary operational contact for suppliers, ensuring digital information is managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main operational liaison for suppliers on BIM and digital delivery matters.
• Receive, triage and resolve issues related to model access, methodology, coordination, non‑compliance and workflow.
• Monitor digital readiness and delivery risks, reporting status to the BIM Lead.
• Coordinate updates to the Model Production and Delivery Tracker (MPDT) with design managers and suppliers.
• Facilitate federated model management, clash detection, avoidance and resolution across all HRS02 parties.
• Ensure all information deliverables comply with HS2 and ISO 19650 requirements, including integration of CSM, CDM data and asset UAIDs.
• Support use of the Project Information Model (PIM) and Asset Information Model (AIM) Common Data Environments, managing metadata and deliverable assurance.
• Provide digital coordination support to the Interface Manager and track interface‑related actions.
• Prepare and maintain digital reporting, including MIDP status, performance metrics, clash coordination and readiness indicators.
• Assist in audit preparation and governance reviews by collating required evidence.

Required profile

• Experience supporting BIM/AIM processes within large infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with HS2 Works Information and ISO 19650 standards.
• Ability to act as the primary operational contact for multiple suppliers.
• Strong understanding of digital information management, model federation and clash resolution.
• Proven capability to produce and maintain detailed digital reports and metrics.
