About the role
The Brewing Area Owner reports to the Brewing Department manager and works on a day‑based schedule in Samlesbury. You will join a multi‑skilled team focused on fault finding, equipment optimisation and maximizing uptime across the brewing operation.
Key responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement, implement SOPs and monitor departmental KPIs.
- Lead, coach and develop the team, handling performance reviews, training and succession planning.
- Ensure effective communication, shift handovers and workforce flexibility to meet production targets.
- Manage cost performance, including maintenance and utility expenses, while supporting operational excellence.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality and HACCP standards.
Required profile
- Minimum A‑level (or equivalent) education with willingness to study for the IBD Diploma in Brewing.
- Proven experience managing teams in a high‑speed manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and lead organisational change.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, continuous improvement and brewing processes.
Required skills
- Lean Manufacturing
- Six Sigma (preferred)
- Brewing process knowledge, including yeast management and fermentation cycles
- IBD Diploma in Brewing (studying)
